It is back to school time all around Los Angeles. If your children aren’t back in school yet they will be soon and no doubt will be in need of school supplies. The good news is that in addition to the big box stores there are lots of educational supply stores scattered throughout the City of Angels – great for when the bigger stores are already picked over.

The Lakeshore stores are great because they cover so many bases. They offer age appropriate materials from infants through sixth grade. Through the years we have found many different tools and activities for our children. They covered more than just the back to school supplies. We found all sorts of resources that could be used to help the children with their school homework as well as charts that could be used for chores around the house.
Neely’s Educational Materials

Neely’s URL says that they supply everything but the children and they certainly do that. The store offers a wealth of supplies that includes everything from arts and crafts materials to things for multimedia. There is a nice selection that makes it easy to find what you need.
Educative Toys & Supplies

Based in the San Fernando Valley Educative Toys & Supplies provides a variety of tools and resources that can be used by parents and or teachers. They cover a broad age range from the very young up through middle school age children. They also provide materials for multilingual instruction which is of great use in a city like Los Angeles.
16101 Ventura Boulevard, #135
Encino, CA 91436
also in Sherman Oaks and Canoga Park
Don’t let the name fool you – this is a store whose inventory contains a broad variety of items including educational toys for children. As a dad I love it when play time is educational. Feels so subversive.
10155 Balboa Blvd.,
Northridge, CA 91325
With a less fussy interior than some chain stores, Education Station stocks everything you can think of – from solar system models to yards of butcher paper. The staff will help you find just the right materials for your student of any age, and the prices here are very reasonable.
