The San Fernando Valley can be a shopper’s paradise, especially if you are on the search for unique finds and specialty items. Save yourself a trip over the hill, and instead focus on the East to West drive along Ventura Boulevard. Here are a few unique spots along the well-known street that runs the distance in LA’s Valley.

A multi-locale boutique that originally started on Topanga Canyon, Soto offers a variety of items ranging from home goods to clothes. Why “Soto?” Because of its original location, the name Soto was chosen to stand for “South on Topanga”. Now, there are a handful, including a clothing and accessory shop in Sherman Oaks. If you love what you see, Soto Lifestyle in Studio City, Westlake Village and Woodland Hills also sell clothes, as well as home goods and gifts. The prices are fair, which is a big plus if you want more bang for your buck.

In addition to its location on Melrose, The Melrose Trading Post has added another location in Woodland Hills. Every Saturday from 9am to 5pm, Taft High School hosts a weekly flea market. Entry is just $2, and ticket sales go directly to fundraising efforts for school programs. While you shop from vendors hawking art and collectibles and more, enjoy live music and entertainment.
