Alice Ward, Matriarch Portrayed In ‘The Fighter,’ Dies At 79

Alice Ward, the matriarch of a Massachusetts boxing clan who was portrayed in “The Fighter” in an Oscar-winning performance by Melissa Leo, has died. She was 79.
