The family of a Torrance man who was fatally struck by a car driven by a drunk substance-abuse counselor filed a wrongful death lawsuit Thursday against the woman’s employer.
A substance abuse counselor was convicted Tuesday of mowing down a man with her car in Torrance and then driving more than two miles with the victim lodged in her windshield, authorities reported.
The substance abuse counselor accused of driving drunk while a dying man was stuck on the hood of her car was charged with murder on Tuesday.
The woman suspected of driving under the influence when she hit a pedestrian and drove with the dying man on her hood for more than two miles has worked as a drug and alcohol counselor and was a former addict.
