Iraq war veteran Itzcotal “Izzy” Ocampo, 23, is expected to be arraigned on six murder charges Tuesday. Authorities say Ocampo killed four homeless men in Orange County between December and January.
Charges were dropped today against a man who was awaiting trial for the fatal stabbings of his mother and brother in Yorba Linda, with prosecutors saying new evidence in the slayings points instead to a former Marine who is already charged with the killings of four homeless men in Orange County.
The man, who allegedly preyed on homeless men — killing four of them in stabbing frenzies in Orange County, may have killed a mother and son, police confirmed Thursday.
Orange County investigators worked Wednesday to determine if there is a connection between the fatal stabbings of a Yorba Linda woman and her son in October and the suspected slayings of four homeless men by accused “thrill killer,” Itzcoatl Ocampo.
