$40M ‘Race To The Top’ Over For LAUSD

The Los Angeles Unified School District was unable to continue its pursuit of $40 million in federal funding Tuesday after a failure to reach an agreement with the teachers’ union.

Villaraigosa Lobbies Feds To Allow LAUSD To Compete Directly For Funding

The mayor was in DC in the hopes of securing federal funding without having to compete with the state of California.
