Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation Friday that will establish California’s first rules detailing how oil drillers use a technique known as fracking.
The measure includes a requirement that drillers disclose the chemicals they use in the process of hydraulic fracturing.
Environmental activists were set to descend on the offices of a San Fernando Valley lawmaker Monday to demand she support a legislative ban on a controversial drilling process.
