The USC Trojan Marching Band planned to pay tribute to the late-Los Angeles Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss during halftime of Saturday’s game against Boston College in Los Angeles.
For Dr. Jerry Buss, it was hard to beat watching his Lakers take on the Celtics. Wednesday night at the Staples Center, he would have been proud and honored, not only by the 113-99 victory the Lakers earned over the Celtics, but by the touching tribute given back by the city, and the people who loved him.
A memorial patch will be donned by the Lakers on their jerseys in honor of the team’s longtime owner Jerry Buss, who passed away in Los Angeles on Monday.
