Assistant City Manager
A jury on Friday is expected to get the case of Angela Spaccia, former assistant city manager from the tiny city of Bell, whose attorney said in closing arguments that her salary was “staggering” but not criminal.
Until two weeks ago, Angela Spaccia was the secondary defendant in the Bell city corruption trial, a footnote to the activities of her boss, disgraced City Manager Robert Rizzo who was charged with robbing the small city blind to the tune of more nearly $6 million. Then the unthinkable happened.
Jury selection began Monday for a former city of Bell official accused of helping bilk taxpayers out to millions of dollars.
