Fire Burns Commercial Building In Van Nuys

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A firefighter was hurt Tuesday while battling a blaze at commercial building in Van Nuys.

The injured fire captain suffered burns to one of his hands while trying to put out flames that broke out around 3:30 p.m. at 14723 W. Aetna St. at Oxnard Boulevard, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Humphrey said the building housed a light manufacturing business.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to knock down the flames, he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
