LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr. may have punched his ticket to the 2017 NBA dunk contest with a soaring jam over the Nets’ Brook Lopez Wednesday night.

The dunk gave the Lakers a one-point lead with less than a minute left in the third quarter. The Lakers would soon squander that lead en route to the team’s eighth straight loss.

Still, Nance’s dunk over the 7-footer is sure to be the most memorable moment of the game.

Even the Nets bench was energized after watching Nance take the ball up the court and finish with such authority.

Nance appeared to be aware of Lopez’s humiliation after the play. With a smile on his face, Nance apologized during a break.
