Buena Park Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime After Vandal Tags Church With Swastikas

BUENA PARK (CBSLA.com)   —  The Buena Park Police Department is investigating a possible hate crime.

Just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 7300 block of Orangethorpe Avenue regarding a report of vandalism.

On arrival, officers found someone had defaced the outside wall of the True Light Christian Church with a series of swastikas and other markings including the words “my honor” in German.

The Orange County Register first broke the story and provided photos to CBS2/KCAL9.

Police said due to the nature of the markings and the fact it was on a church wall, the vandalism is also being investigated as a possible hate crime.

There was no known suspect information.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
