California-Based Company Says It's Created Cannabis-Infused Single-Brew Coffee Pods

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A California-based company has created what it's dubbed as a "new standard in cannabis infused edibles."

BREWBUDZ, a company located in San Diego, explains it's created a pod that delivers the contents of the cannabis in a single cup of Joe.

"The key is having the proper mix of coffee, or your favorite beverage, and cannabis in the pod," the company indicated on its official webpage.

The turbulence, the company says, extracts the flavor of the beverage "and all of the healing elements from the cannabis."

The process has been patented.

BREWBUDZ goes on to explain that the product is packaged in compostable single brew pods and is compatible with all K-CUP brewers.

The company explains that it'll be launching in early 2017, according to its official Instagram account.

"We are proud of what we have done so far and feel this is a very unique product that mixes two personal rituals, our consumption of coffee or tea and of cannabis, which can be for medical or recreational purposes," Vice President Jeffry Paul said.

The company will begin distribution in Nevada and Colorado in January, Paul said, and will increase distribution in the following few months in several other states, including California.
