Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Posing As Police Officer In Norco

NORCO (CBSLA.com) — A 36-year-old man who allegedly frisked a woman while posing as a police officer in Norco has been arrested, sheriff's deputies said Thursday.

According to the Norco Sheriff's Office, Scott Anthony Doud, of Rancho Cucamonga, was identified as the suspect in this crime.

Authorities filed additional charges of impersonating a peace officer, kidnapping and battery against Doud, who was already being held on separate charges at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Doud is accused of stopping a vehicle, which carried an adult woman and two others, under the guise of being a police officer around 5:20 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Sixth Street.

He approached the vehicle, identified himself as an undercover officer, and ordered the victims out of their car.

The victims complied with the orders in fear of repercussions of disobeying law enforcement.

Doud allegedly conducted a pat-down frisk of one of the victims.

As he continued to question the group, one of the victims asked him to produce his police badge, but he was unable to do so and allowed the victims to leave.

The victims immediately notified authorities.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this case has been urged to contact the Norco Sheriff's Office at (951) 270-5673.
