Teenage Boy Critically Injured After Being Struck By 2 Vehicles In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 16-year-old pedestrian remained hospitalized in critical condition Saturday after being struck by two vehicles in Santa Ana.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident was reported around 12:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West McArthur Boulevard.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a pedestrian lying in the roadway, bleeding from the head while unconscious.

Paramedics transported the teenager to a hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries sustained in the crash.

An update on his condition was not immediately available.

Police said the involved driver remained at the scene and provided a statement to investigators.

A preliminary investigation revealed two pedestrians were crossing the intersection driveway diagonally when a vehicle struck one of them.

After the initial collision, the pedestrian was struck a second time by another vehicle, which fled from the scene.

Detectives described the second vehicle as a dark colored SUV.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
