Help Needed To Find 6-Foot-Tall Bronze Elephant Statues

OJAI (CBSLA.com) — Police are asking for help finding two large, bronze elephant statues that were stolen from a fountain in the Ojai area.

The burglary happened between Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 at a property in the 8700 block of North Ventura Avenue, in the unincorporated area of Casitas Springs.

Each elephant statue is about 6 feet tall, 4 feet long and 2 feet wide, and police say each statue is very heavy and would need several people to lift it and take it away. Each statue is valued at more than $4,000 each.

Police provided an image of an elephant statue identical in design to the ones that were stolen.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the thieves in this crime. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
