At Least 240 Arrests Made During Massive Music Festival In Devore

DEVORE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say 240 people have been arrested during a massive music festival in Devore that drew tens of thousands of revelers over the weekend.

Most of the arrests occurred Saturday during the third day of Nocturnal Wonderland, which was held at San Manuel Amphitheater on Glen Helen Parkway.

Some of the arrests were for drug and alcohol-related offenses, assault, battery, resisting arrest, and in one instance, indecent exposure, authorities said.

So far, at least 8 people have also been taken to the hospital.

About 25,762 people attended the third day of the event, which was in its 21st year.

Music festivals have recently come under fire following several suspected drug-related deaths and hundreds of arrests in the past few years.

Earlier this month, a Los Angeles Times report found at least 25 confirmed drug-related deaths nationwide in the past decade among fans who went to raves hosted by L.A. companies.

The organizer for this weekend's rave, Insomniac Events, would not issue a comment.
