Santa Clarita Man Accused Of Attacking Women In Their Apartments In Virgin Mary T-Shirt

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Santa Clarita man is in custody in connection with a series of break-ins and sexual assaults.

Russell Malcolm Harris, 34, faces seven felony counts of burglary and sexual assault in attacks in several cities, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Harris, who is being held on $2.3 million bail, is scheduled to make his next court appearance on Aug. 30.

Prosecutors say Harris broke into a woman's home on Aug. 1 and touched her sexually before fleeing. Later that day he broke into three more homes. The next day, he broke into or tried to break into three more residences, according to the District Attorney's Office.

Police were tipped off about Harris after releasing security camera video to the public.

Harris, who is also a fugitive from New York and New Jersey, was found in custody after being arrested for prowling in Pasadena.
