Homicide Detectives Come Up Empty Handed In Search For Body
CARSON (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives wrapped up the search of a Carson home late Thursday, after a search for a body based on a tip.
The detectives were sent to a home in the 21600 block of Prospect Avenue at about 7:45 a.m. to serve a search warrant based on a tip of "credible information" about a missing person from a juvenile in protective custody, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
The tip came from a juvenile informant, according to authorities, who said the informant pinpointed a location.
Coroner's personnel were assisting in the search, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.
Sheriff's investigators said no one is living at the house, and they said it has a history of gang and drug activity.
Cadaver dogs searched the house and yard, but no body was found.
Detectives said they discovered biological evidence, which could mean that a body had been buried there at some point.
Late Thursday, the search was wrapped up. Detectives say they're finished at the site, and that evidence is leading them elsewhere.
