Beloved Dogs Found Bound, Dumped On Desert Road In Lucerne Valley

LUCERNE VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A family in Lucerne Valley is grieving and wants answers after a gruesome discovery: their beloved dogs were found bound and dumped on a desert road.

Mariah and Jim Figuieredo say they're determined to find out who is behind the dogs' brutal deaths.

The dogs' bodies were found a week after the pets escaped from their yard.

Family members say a neighbor told them the dogs were accidentally poisoned and buried.

"I don't know how anybody could do something so gruesome, whether they were poisoned and dug up, like they said. None of the stories add up to me," said Mariah Figuieredo, the dogs' owner. "I raised them since they were little babies. It's really hard for me."

San Bernardino Animal Control is now investigating.
