Do-Not-Drink Water Advisory Continues For Palos Verdes Estates Residents

PALOS VERDES ESTATES (CBSLA.com/AP) — Residents of about 200 homes in the Los Angeles County city of Palos Verdes Estates were told for a second day not to drink or cook with their tap water after locks were found broken on a storage tank.

California Water Service issued the warning Monday after the breach was discovered by workers doing routine maintenance on the 50,000 gallon tank.

Agency officials said Tuesday that initial testing has not revealed any problems with the water, but they're advising residents to avoid drinking it out of an abundance of caution until the advisory is lifted.
