As Sand Fire Rages, Here's What You Need To Know

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Officials have released the following information as it relates to evacuation orders while firefighters continue to battle a massive wildfire in the Santa Clarita Valley.

MANDATORY EVACUATIONS

All evacuation orders remain in effect, including for residents of Sand Canyon, as well as for the following areas:

• East of the 14 Freeway from Golden Valley Road to Sand Canyon;

• East side of Via Princesa from Lost Canyon to the end of Via Princessa;

• All streets east of Lost Canyon Road from Via Princessa to Santa Clara River and all streets east of that area;

• Agua Dulce Road to the west;

• Soledad Canyon Road to the south;

• Acton Camp to the east;

• Sierra Highway and Shady Lane to Sierra Highway at the 14 Freeway;

• Escondido at the 14 Freeway to Sierra Highway at the 14 Freeway.

EVACUATION CENTERS

Evacuated residents are asked to seek shelter at the following evacuation centers:

Santa Clarita: Hart High School, 24825 North Newhall Avenue;

Sylmar: Lake View Terrace Recreation Center, 11075 Foothill Boulevard;

Palmdale: Highland High School, 39055 25th Street West.

ANIMAL SHELTERS, LIVESTOCK, PET & OTHER ANIMALS

• Pet and small animals can also be taken to Golden Valley High School located at 27051 Robert C. Lee Parkway in Santa Clarita.

• Large animals and livestock can be taken to Pierce College located at 6201 Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills. Hansen Dam Equestrian Center has reached capacity.

Meanwhile, the city of Santa Clarita issued a list of services also affected by the fire.

These include:

All pools closed Monday, July 25

Central Park closed for two weeks.
Concerts in the Park canceled (until futher notice)

North Oaks, Santa Clarita Park and Meadows Park day camps are moving to The Centre.
Canyon Country Park (half-day camp) is canceled.
Valencia Glen and Newhall Park continue as planned.
Voyagerrs Camp moves to Ice Station and Sky High

Santa Clarita Transit
Local service running (no DAR in evacuated areas)
Commuter routes running
Riders should expect delays and detours

Metro (Monday, July 25)
No service from Antelope Valley Line 270 to Los Angeles
Metrolink is running between Via Princessa and Los Angeles only
No service to or from Vincent Grade, Palmdale or Lancaster
