Man, 22, Found Dead In San Bernardino Flood Channel

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com)  — Authorities are investigating the death of a 22-year-old San Bernardino man whose body was found in a flood channel.

On Tuesday, just after 2:30 p.m., a San Bernardino County Code Enforcement Officer was conducting a weekly routine check of the flood channels when he discovered the body of Dilan Lopez, a San Bernardino resident.

Lopez was found under the South I Street bridge north of Oak Street, located in the city of San Bernardino. Based upon Lopez's location in the flood control channel, detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Sheriff's Specialized Investigations Division took over the investigation.

Detectives are talking to Lopez' family to determine his whereabouts in the days leading up to his death.

The exact cause of death is pending an autopsy.
