Man Wanted For Sexually Assaulting At Least 2 Women In West LA

WEST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police need your help with catching a man who sexually assaulted two women in West Los Angeles.

The two attacks took place within a half mile on the same street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The first assault occurred early Saturday morning as a woman was walking home in 1400 block of South Westgate Avenue. Police said the sexual predator grabbed the victim from behind, dragged her across a street to a dark path, threw her onto the ground and raped her. When the victim fought back, the suspect struck her several times.

The second attack happened on July 4 in the 900 block of Westgate Avenue at 4:15 p.m. The culprit approached his second victim as she was also walking home. He put his arm around her neck, pulled her down a driveway and forced her to the ground where he proceeded to sexually assault her.

The suspect is described as African American with black hair and black facial hair as shown on a security video.

He is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, stands no taller than 6 foot 2 tall and weighs around 160 pounds.

Police believe there may be more victims who have not come forward.
