Police Investigating 2 Unrelated Homicides In Oxnard That Occurred 6 Hours Apart

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities in Oxnard were investigating two unrelated homicides they say occurred six hours apart.

About 5 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting victim in the 1900 block of N. Ventura Road. When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s with multiple gunshot wounds. Police said the victim was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

The second homicide occurred about 11 p.m. in the 1300 block of S. C Street. When officers arrived, they located a man in his early 20s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a motive for either homicide was not known. Preliminary information indicates that neither appears to be related.

The deaths mark the 7th and 8th homicides of the year in Oxnard.
