Santa Ana Man Arrested For Possession Of iPads Stolen From Elementary School

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Police say a Santa Ana man was arrested after he was found in possession of iPad laptop computers stolen from a local elementary school.

Khaleeq Forbes, 24, was arrested June 14 when an Irvine police officer was patrolling a parking structure on Spectrum Center Drive and observed Forbes and one other person "sitting in a parked vehicle with the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the car", according to police.

When it was determined Forbes was on probation, police searched the car and found marijuana and an iPad, which was later determined to have been stolen from a Tustin elementary school about two years ago, police said.

Additional officers later searched a residence in Tustin associated with Forbes and found two additional iPads, which were confirmed stolen from the elementary school, according to investigators.

Forbes was arrested without incident.

Additional details were not immediately available.
