4-Year-Old Fatally Struck By Vehicle Driven By 65-Year-Old Female Relative In Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Huntington Beach Police Department says a 4-year-old girl was fatally struck Friday evening by a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old female relative.
The accident occurred in the area of Edgewater Lane and Diablo Circle just before 5:30 p.m., police said.
The relative -- also a Huntington Beach resident -- was driving her white 2015 GMC Yukon when she pulled into a driveway and allegedly struck the child.
The girl was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center were she later succumbed to her injuries.
The victim's name was not released.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the HBPD Major Incident Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T).
No citations have been issued and no arrests have been made. At this point it is unknown if alcohol was a factor, officials said.
