Police: 7,650 Laptops Valued At $3M Stolen From LA Warehouse

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police are looking for those responsible for stealing an estimated $3 million worth of laptops at gunpoint from a warehouse.

A local television station says a suspect who police say was armed with a gun tied up a security guard at a warehouse in the Harbor Gateway area late Friday evening.

Four other suspects then used two trucks to tow away a pair of trailers containing 7,650 Dell Inspiron laptops, according to authorities.

One trailer was later found empty. The other is still missing.

Detectives say the laptops may wind up being sold on Craigslist or eBay. They warn consumers to be cautious about buying a computer if the price seems too good to be true because it might be stolen property.
