Police Rescue Naked, Bleeding Woman Stabbed 25 Times During Possible Domestic Situation

MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — Police in Monterey Park said they answered a 911 call and encountered a wet, naked, bleeding woman who had as many as 25 stab wounds Thursday evening.

The woman was a possible victim of domestic violence. The suspect taken into custody is believed to be the victim's husband.

The woman is believed to have been stabbed -- possibly with scissors -- while she was in the shower. Police did not believe her wounds were life-threatening.

The victim speaks no English, police said. She's only been in the U.S. for three days. She reportedly speaks Mandarin.

The suspect is in his 60s.

The incident took place in the 1200 block of West Newmark Avenue.

Neighbors called 911 when they heard the woman screaming.

The husband is expected to be booked on attempted murder charges.

Neighbors also told her the suspect and victim lived in the home with the man's two adult children.

"She had like a nice, clean cut in her chest," said neighbor Caira Hernandez, "and on her back and she had some cuts on her head. She was covered all in blood and naked."

Officials said the woman is recovering at County-USC Medical Center.
