Central Coast Man Pleads Guilty To Selling Counterfeit Adobe Software

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Central Coast man has pleaded guilty to trafficking in counterfeit versions of Adobe software.

The U.S. attorney's office says 52-year-old Jeffrey Scott Patterson of Lompoc entered his plea in Los Angeles federal court on Monday.

Prosecutors say he used two websites to advertise and sell the counterfeit software.

During the investigation, agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations made two undercover purchases at about half the full retail price for Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional and Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium.

According to records obtained by agents, the scheme generated more than $500,000 in sales.
