Search Continues For Assault Suspect Who Followed Woman Home From Tustin Grocery Store

TUSTIN (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday continued to search for a suspect who attempted to sexually assault a woman at her residence in Tustin.

On Wednesday evening, police responded to the 13300 block of Jamboree Road for report of an attempted sexual assault, according to the Tustin Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned the suspect followed the woman around Ralph's grocery store while she shopped.

He then drove away from the grocery store in a silver Scion two-door coupe and followed the victim to her home where he attempted to sexually assault her.

"The female victim reported a male suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her around the waist area," said Lt. Robert Wright. "The victim resisted and struggled with the suspect. The suspect fled to his vehicle and drove away from the scene."

Detectives described the suspect as a Caucasian man believed to be between 20 and 30-years-old who has a thin build, curly or very short brown hair and stands around 5-foot-8 tall.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the identity and whereabouts of this suspect has been urged to contact the Tustin Police Department at (714) 573-3250.
