Stephen Colbert, Grover & Spike Jonze Made A Short Film - And It's Even Weirder Than It Sounds

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — What do you get when you cross an eccentric Hollywood filmmaker, a Muppet, and a late-night talk show host?

CBS' "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert decided to find out when he hooked up with "Being John Malkovich" director Spike Jonze for his vision on how he would open The Late Show - a vision that included a cameo by Sesame Street's Grover.

The two-and-a-half minute video starts with the caption: "My guest tonight had an idea about how to start the show in a different way. I said sure let's try it."

Colbert's been known in the past to take some artistic license with his show: he even claims to have written the "perfect Late Show theme song".
