IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — As the latest “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit edition hits newsstands, readers are saying they’re happy to see the first plus-size model grace the cover of the annual issue.

Graham is a size 16.

“Women feel they are never good enough. There is never a right weight,” said Willi Koopman, a model and actress who once appeared on the cover of “Vogue.” “[But] if they are healthy, they feel good.”

Personal trainer Lisa Raffay said the cover is a sign of progress in the skinny-obsessed world of modeling.

“It says how times are changing,” Raffay siad. “‘Skinny’ is not ‘good.'”

Graham, for her part, said in an Instagram post that she was dedicating the cover to every woman who has “felt that she was not beautiful enough because of her size.”
