Man, 37, Sentenced To 220 Years In Prison For Sexually Assaulting 3 Underage Female Relatives For 18 Years

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com)   —  The LA County District Attorney's Office announced on Friday that a 37-year-old Palmdale man was sentenced to 220 years to life for sexually assaulting three female family members for nearly two decades.

Richard Edward Ray was convicted on Dec. 9, 2015 of a total of 17 felony counts.

Ray was found guilty of five counts of lewd act upon a child; two counts each of continuous sexual abuse, aggravated assault of a child and oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years old or younger; and one count each of incest, sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 years or younger, sodomy of a person under 14 with 10 year difference, aggravated sexual assault of a child (oral copulation), criminal threats and forcible rape of child victim over the age of 14, said Deputy DA Stephen Morgan.

The abuse began in 1996 and continued until 2014, Morgan said. At the time the assaults and molestations started, the three victims ranged in age from five to 14, the prosecutor said.

The crimes occurred in both the Antelope Valley and Nevada, Morgan added.
