Witness Helps Police Nab Burglary Suspect In Hemet

HEMET (CBSLA.com) — A 33-year-old homeless man has been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a business in Hemet, police said Thursday.

Just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, officers received a call from an employee reporting a suspect had exited a business through a broken window, according to the Hemet Police Department.

Upon their arrival to the 600 block of East Florida Avenue, authorities conducted an area check for the burglary suspect.

A short time later, the same employee reported seeing the suspect riding his bicycle in the 100 block of South Buena Vista Street.

Hemet Police Chief David Brown, who was in the area, made contact with the employee who witnessed the suspect fleeing from the scene.

Officers then subsequently apprehended the burglary suspect who was later identified as Daniel Lozano.

Lozano is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail on a burglary charge and an outstanding domestic violence warrant.
