Sheriff's Detectives Hoping Public Can Lead Them To Witness Of Attempted Kidnapping

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  Authorities are hoping the public can lead them to a kidnapping suspect.

Detectives with the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station say the suspect allegedly entered a home last month and took two young girls out of the residence.

The incident allegedly occurred on November 24, at approximately 7 p.m.

Officials said the suspect entered a residence in the 15100 Block of Cranbrook Avenue in unincorporated Gardena and kidnapped two female children, 3 and 7 years of age.

The suspect carried both girls from the residence and tried to put them into a dark colored SUV which was parked on the street. The 7-year-old was able to get away from the suspect. When he set the younger girl on the ground, both ran back to the home screaming.

Their mother immediately called 911.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30, 6 foot tall, medium build.

Detectives obtained surveillance video of an individual seen near the residence just prior to the alleged incident. Detectives are trying to identify this individual to determine if he possibly witnessed the incident.

If you have any information about this individual or about this kidnapping attempt, you're asked to contact Detective Mark Yzabal at the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station, (323) 820-6700.
