Tyson Foods Inc. Recalls Chicken Wings Due To 'Off Odor'

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Tyson Foods Inc. has voluntarily recalled more than 52,000 pounds of chicken wings that were possibly tampered with, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said Tuesday.

According to the FSIS, the company received consumer complaints stating that "Tyson Any'tizers Fully Cooked Hot Wings" had an "off odor."

Some consumers even reported having symptoms of a mild illness after eating the product.

Each 28-ounce bag of the fully-cooked, buffalo-style chicken wings affected in the recall has a "Best if Used By" date of Oct. 24, 2016, or Oct. 25, 2016.

The establishment number "P-13456" is posted inside each USDA mark of inspection, on the back of each bag and above the heating instructions.

Consumers should also look for packaging dates that read "2975PBF0508-23" and "2985PBF0500-01."

The wings, which are coated with a flavorful hot and tangy sauce, have been sold to retail stores nationwide.

Anyone who may have purchased this product has been urged not to consume it.

The chicken wings should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Consumers who may be concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider or Tyson's Consumer Relations department at (866) 328-3156.
