Longtime Dodgers Athletic Trainer Stan Conte Resigns

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Stan Conte, the Los Angeles Dodgers' head athletic trainer for nine years, has resigned to pursue research in baseball injuries.

The team said Saturday that Conte, who also had the title of vice president, medical services for the last two years, was leaving immediately. He says he's committed to determining the causes and effects of various baseball injuries.

Conte joined the Dodgers in 2006 after 15 years with the San Francisco Giants, including seven as head athletic trainer and physical therapist.
