Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Rape In Fontana

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old man wanted for attempting to pull a victim into his vehicle has been arrested, officers said on Tuesday.

According to the Fontana Police Department, Alexander Rodriguez was taken into custody on Saturday.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers were sent to the 17700 block of Foothill Boulevard for report of an attempted rape call.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned Rodriguez called the victim over to his newer model, white Audi Coupe located in the parking lot of a convenience store.

According to police, he suggestively exposed himself when the victim approached his car.

Rodriguez then unsuccessfully attempted to pull the victim into his Audi and fled westbound on Foothill Boulevard prior to officers arrival to the scene.

Rodriguez is being held at the West Valley Detention Center on an attempted rape charge.
