Second Man Arrested In Video Showing Officer Being Stalked By Armed Motorist

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — A second man was arrested Wednesday in what authorities said was his role in producing a video that appears to show an armed motorist stalking a police officer.

Alex Izquierdo, 35, of Hawthorne was arrested at his attorney's office in Hawthorne and is the man holding the gun in the video, police said.

Authorities now say the video did not pose a credible threat but instead was part of a promotional video for a rap group.

Izquierdo, who has posted bond but likely will not be released until Thursday, has no record of felonies in his past.

The video in question shows a man holding what the LAPD said was a loaded revolver while sitting in a parked car behind an LAPD patrol car.

The video was posted to social media last week and quickly went viral. It had rattled members of law enforcement and their families, who feel officers are under attack of late.

The video was shown at roll calls last week and officers were told to pair up for safety. The wife of one officer who asked not to be identified on camera said it certainly made an impression on some officers.

On Saturday, two LAPD officers shot and killed a man after they said their rear window was shattered. An investigation revealed that the man who was shot and killed was unarmed and the object that broke the window was a beer bottle.
