Customers Line Up In Pasadena For iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus Release

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Hundreds of customers waited in line on Friday for the highly anticipated release of Apple's new iPhone models.

According to Apple, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are available for purchase online and in stores nationwide.

The display of the iPhone 6S measures 4.7 inches, while the display of the iPhone 6S Plus measures 5.5 inches.

The new iPhones have faster processors, more memory and a new 12 mega-pixel camera.

A new feature of the upgrade includes the addition of "3D Touch," which uses added screen sensors to detect the difference between extended finger pressure and a light tap. This feature triggers different menus and functions for apps made by Apple and outside developers.

Color selection for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus includes silver, space gray, gold and rose gold.

The new phones cost the same amount as the models that were introduced last year. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will now sell for $100 less.

All Apple stores opened to the public at 8 a.m. here in Southern California.
