$75K Reward Offered For Suspect Wanted In Shooting Death Of Man In LA

 LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police will offer a $75,000 reward on Tuesday for information that would lead to the arrest of those responsible for the shooting death of a man in Los Angeles.

Around 7 a.m. on Jan. 10, Jose Andres Escobar walked with a friend in the area of Crenshaw Boulevard and 59th Street and collected aluminum cans.

When they were near the center median of Crenshaw Boulevard, an unknown man confronted Escobar and his friend.

The suspect shouted, "Where are you from?," before he produced a handgun and opened fire on both men.

Escobar was struck by gunfire. Paramedics located him mid-block and transported him to a hospital where he later died.

At 11 a.m., the LAPD will hold a news conference to offer the reward.
