Mystery Of Missing Santa Clarita Mother Who Helps The Homeless Deepens

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com)  —  The mystery surrounding a missing Santa Clarita woman deepens.

Kristen Wilson Ghilardi was last seen Wednesday.

KCAL9's Brittney Hopper spoke to Ghilardi's mother Sunday evening.

She said there is no way her 29-year-old daughter would have left her 10-year-old son to fend for himself.

A teary Diane Ghilardi said to Hopper, "Everyone is worried about you. Just come home."

Ghilardi was suppose to pick up her son Wednesday and never showed up.

"To leave her son who is the most important thing in the world to her? No. It's not like her. She wouldn't do that. Something is wrong," says her mom.

Kristen volunteers with the homeless outreach program through her church in Santa Clarita.

Her friend Ashley Boger says the two of them met a homeless parolee named Patrick earlier this month. Ashley says Kristen wanted to help him. She provided him with a car ride to his parole officer in Simi Valley a few weeks ago.

Then on Wednesday Ashley says Kristen got a call and said she had to go to Simi Valley and would be back in time to pick her son up from school.

"Something is really really wrong," Bolger says.

Family members have turned to Facebook. They're trying to reach out to as many people as possible. They're hoping someone knows something.

"Please let us know you're okay," said her mom.

She was last seen driving her 2006 charcoal grey, four-door Toyota Corolla. Authorities say the car has tinted rear windows.

Family says calls to Kristen's cellphone go straight to voice mail.

If you have any information -- or if you seen Ghilardi -- please call Santa Clarita Sheriffs immediately.
