Local Rapper Shot In Neck On Freeway In Pasadena

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A local rapper on Wednesday reported he was the man who was shot in the neck during a drive-by shooting in Pasadena.

According to the victim, Phora, a 45-caliber bullet went through his shoulder and lodged in the back of his neck while he drove with his girlfriend on the eastbound 210 Freeway during the late hours on Monday night.

Phora explained someone in a silver car fired into his BMW.

His girlfriend did not sustain injuries in the shooting.

According to the Pasadena Police Department, officers located Phora in the 300 block of South Lake Avenue during the morning hours on Tuesday.

He was transported to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound in his neck. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

At this time, it remains unclear if the rapper was targeted or if the shooting was random.

The investigation is ongoing.
