Man Killed, Another Critically Injured After Gunman Opens Fire In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police on Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding a deadly shooting that took place in South Los Angeles.

Just before midnight, officers were sent to the 1600 block of West 65th Place at South Harvard Boulevard for report of a shooting, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Paramedics pronounced one man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The second victim has been hospitalized in critical condition.

Homicide detectives were called to assist at the scene.

At this time, authorities have not released information regarding a motive for the shooting or a suspect description.

The investigation is ongoing.
