300-Acre Brush Fire Continues To Burn In Castaic

CASTAIC (CBSLA.com) — Nearly 200 firefighters on Monday continued to battle a brush fire that has burned about 300 acres in Castaic.

Just after 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, firefighters were sent to the area of Lake Hughes Road at Warm Springs Road for report of a vegetation fire, according to the L.A. County Fire Department.

Six structures located within an abandoned rehab facility subsequently burned in the fire within the Angeles National Forest.

On Sunday night, two "suspicious" people that were being questioned had no connection to the fire, and were detained on vehicle code violations, according to the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station.

No injuries or evacuations were reported.

At this time, the so-called Warm fire remains at 30 percent containment.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities believe it is suspicious in nature.
