Fiery Crash Causes Natural Gas Leak At Building In Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters on Wednesday worked to extinguish a fire burning within a vehicle that struck a building in Santa Monica.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., firefighters responded to report of a vehicle fire located in the 700 block of Montana Avenue near 7th Street, according to the Santa Monica Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, crews requested resources from the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

A preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle crashed into a building in the area and subsequently caught on fire.

At this time, firefighters are unable to turn off natural gas that is leaking from the building.

No injuries or evacuations have been reported.
