Crews Save Injured Horse Stuck In Simi Valley Brush
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Crews in Simi Valley came to the rescue Thursday of an injured horse stuck in the brush of a steep canyon.
Rescuers arrived around 2:10 p.m. at First Street and Long Canyon near the Montgomery fire road to help a horse that had suffered an injury to its leg, CBS2/KCAL9's Stu Mundel reported.
The horse had been at the location since Tuesday night, the Ventura County Fire Department said.
A crew cut through the heavy brush restricting the animal's movement, and he was able to then walk out on his own.
A veterinarian was called in to assess the horse's condition.
