Man Charged With 2 Counts Of Capital Murder In Slayings Of Wife, 2-Month-Old Son

INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man suspected of killing his wife and their nearly 2-month-old son was charged Tuesday with two counts of capital murder.

Algernon Fitzgerald Rieux, 26, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in connection with the killings of Jacqueline Montoya, 25, and Joshua Eli-King Rieux.

The mother and her infant son were found dead last Thursday in the 11100 block of South Normandie Avenue. Authorities have not disclosed how they were killed.

The murder charges include the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. Prosecutors will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against Rieux, who was arrested early last Friday in the San Pedro area.

Deputy District Attorney Hyunah Suh is expected to ask that Rieux be held without bail.
