Hit-And-Run, Pursuit Suspect In Custody After Crash Into Westminster Law Office

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A man suspected in a hit-and-run crash was arrested Wednesday after police say he led officers in a pursuit through Garden Grove and Westminster.

Tuan Anh Truong, 48, was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, felony hit-and-run, DUI, driving on a suspended license and driving while on probation for DUI, Garden Grove police Lt. Bob Bogue said.

The chase began after officers saw a stolen white truck at about 2 p.m. in the area of Hazard Street and Westminster Avenue in Garden Grove that matched the suspect description in a hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana. Police say the suspect intentionally rammed three businesses and a Santa Ana home before leading officers on a chase that ran several red lights, drove on the wrong side of the road and finally crashed into a law office at the corner of Westminster Avenue and All American Way in Westminster.

No one was injured in the crash.

Police say Truong admitted to being under the influence of crack cocaine and methamphetamine and that he intentionally rammed one of the buildings, believing his drug dealers were inside.

No drug dealers were found inside the building, officials said.

Truong is suspected in three more hit-and-run crashes – two in Westminster and another one in Garden Grove.
